Primary Responsibilities/Tasks:
Install and terminate low voltage data cabling (Cat5e, Cat6/ 6A).Test and certify Cat5e, Cat6/6A cabling.Install fiber optic cabling.Complete scheduled installations, disconnects and other activities associated with the operation and maintenance of cables on time.Troubleshoot and repair minor technical problems.Ability to work well alone and in teams accurately complete work orders, forms and reports as required.Working with hand power tools.Maintain the flexibility to vary workload to meet constantly changing demands.Possess a positive and professional attitude, maintain a presentable appearance, and relate well with the public.Must be quality conscious and take pride in your work.Requirements:
· Hand tools: 1 year (Required)
· Cabling: 1 year (Required)
· Service technician experience: 1 year (Required)
Comfortable working on ladders.Main Schedule: Monday-Friday daytime.Occasional: After-hours or weekend work.Able to strategically plan day/routes to meet deadlines.Excellent communication skills and professional presentation.Exceptional organizing and time-management skills.Fundamental computer, network, and electronics knowledge.Work independently in the field with little supervision.Experience with Microsoft Products.Highly organized with strong time management skills.Highly motivated and able to set priorities, develop a work plan, and track and monitor progress.Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.Strong skills in thinking within the job requirements.Eager to learn and take on new challenges and projects. Not required, but valuable skill set/experience:
Computer networking knowledge of TCP/IP and experience with Cisco switches, servers, and routers.Test and certify single-mode/multi-mode fiber optic cabling.Knowledge of electrical.Job Type: Part-time
